BIOGRAPHY OF XU XI

About Xu Xi Home

Xu Xi was born in 1940 in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province, China. He began working as an art editor in 1965 right after he graduated from the Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts. In 1978, he became a professional painter and is now an outstanding artist and a member of the Chinese Artists' Association.

PUBLISHED WORKS

1981-1993 15 albums published in Hong Kong, Japan, Sichuan, Singapore, Taipei, Gao Xiong(Kaoshsiung) and Beijing.

EXHIBITIONS

18 Solo exhibitions held in Beijing, Tokyo, New York, Vienna, Hong Kong, Singapore, Osaka, Gao Xiong(Kaoshsiung) and Philadelphia.

AWARDS

1982-1988 Three of Xu Xi's paintings consecutively won first, second and third prize in major international painting competitions, then his another two paintings both won the first prize in two leading competitions in Asia.
