Wang Hsi-chih's Len-t'ing-hsu was lost forever, buried following the death of the
T'ang Emperor T'ai-tsung, and its style is imparted only by copies. Of these, those
that are well-known are copies by Yu Shih-nan, Ch'u Sui-liang and Feng Ch'eng-su,
as well as this buff silk version by Ch'u Sui-liang. This is the only silk copy, and
is the most important version adorned with inscriptions by various famous Ming dynasty
calligraphers.
